About Us

Chemicals & Meters, a small-scale industrial enterprise, was established in 1967 by Raju Venkateswar (1929-94), a US-trained chemical engineer. He was a pioneer in the manufacture of flowmeters in India. After much experimentation, indigenous technology was successfully developed for manufacture of Variable Area Flowmeters (or Rotameters) in a small laboratory-cum-workshop in Calcutta.

The Rotameter is a vital precision instrument used in chemical and allied industries, scientific laboratories and anaesthesia machines.

A small band of skilled and motivated workmen were intensively trained in the manufacturing process, with an accent on total quality.

Today, Chemicals & Meters is the leading manufacturer of Rotameters in India. We manufacture customised Rotameters for industrial plants and scientific laboratories. We also manufacture Rotameters for Anaesthesia Machines.

The products bear the brand CM, which is a highly respected name in the industrial and medical flow meters sector in India.

The company has its own office-cum-factory premises in the Kasba Industrial Estate in Kolkata (Calcutta).
